Factory Project Leader
Hoogezand, 40 hours
Due to the various upcoming projects within our factory, we are looking for an experienced Factory Project Leader.
Using the latest technologies, the Essity factories in Hoogezand produce hygienic products for top brands such as TENA and Libero. With 18 production lines, we produce personal care products (e.g., incontinence products) 24 hours a day. Every day, around 2,250 pallets of finished products find their way to our customers and distribution centers worldwide.
About the Role
In the competitive world we operate in daily, standing still means falling behind. Developments and innovations follow each other rapidly. As a Factory Project Leader, you make a significant contribution and play a central role in investment and maintenance projects. From our Initiatives department, you often lead multiple projects simultaneously aimed at achieving our growth, innovation, and continuity objectives for the factories in Hoogezand.
What You Will Do
As a Factory Project Leader, you are and feel like the owner of the projects you manage. Sometimes these are large, centrally initiated (innovation) projects. But projects initiated from factory needs also occur, and you determine their success. This makes the role both interesting and challenging!
Together with your 5 colleagues, enthusiastic professionals with their own areas of expertise, you face every challenge. This can include setting up completely new production lines in an international collaboration or converting machines based on new production specifications. All in a complex factory environment where logistical and technical processes are very precisely aligned.
As a Factory Project Leader, you lead projects in mechanical, electrical, or construction areas according to the Essity "PRIME" standard used within the organization. We operate on the principle that all projects are delivered FTR (First Time Right) and validated according to CQV. For the projects assigned to you, you create the necessary time, resource, and communication plans, submit investment requests, and ensure their follow-up.
As a project leader, you manage all internal and external employees involved in the execution and implementation of the project until the project is handed over to operations. Your enthusiasm and perseverance motivate and stimulate team members to achieve the set goals, ensuring your projects are successfully completed. You ensure that all stakeholders are continuously informed about the status and have access to the right information to make the right decisions. During the progress, you closely monitor workplace safety and ensure that legal standards and Essity project execution standards are followed.
Who You Are
You get energy from motivating skilled people and guiding them through changes. To optimize processes and improve results, you convince your stakeholders and create connections. Your leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills are indispensable for this. You are meticulous in your work. You are not easily discouraged by setbacks. On the contrary, you appreciate a positive-critical perspective. You communicate just as easily with MT members, product owners, international stakeholders, operators in the production teams, and department managers of the production lines. You also have excellent communication skills, including in English.
Additionally, you have:
At least a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field;
At least 5 years of experience in leading projects and project-based work;
At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role within an automated production environment;
Preferably a CAPM or PMP certification;
Proven experience with projects over 5 million euros;
Experience with projects with accelerated timelines;
Experience managing teams of up to 15 people;
Experience coaching junior team members in a learning environment;
A keen eye for safety and an affinity for a leadership role in it;
Preferably experience with improvement methods and lean manufacturing, such as Total Productive Maintenance or Lean;
Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project. Knowledge of systems such as SAP, Autocad, E-Plan is a plus.
